Wendy McNamara

Mrs. Wendy M. McNamara earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Indianapolis, teacher certification from Valparaiso University, and Masters in Education and in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Indiana. Her educational career spans fourteen years with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. She has served as a teacher and department chair at Benjamin Bosse High School and at Harrison High School, the Supervisor of Social Studies, an assistant principal at North High School, and currently serves as the Director of Early College High School. She is an adjunct professor for World History at the University of Southern Indiana and has taught Political Science and Social Studies Methods at the University of Evansville. McNamara is the Indiana Congressional District 8 We the People: Constitution, Coordinator, an Executive Board Member for the Indiana Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (IASCD), and a Committee Member for the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) Program of Excellence. In the past, she has served as a Social Studies ISTEP Item Reviewer for the State of Indiana. Most recently, she was recognized by the Indiana Council for Economic Education as the Lawrence Senesh Administrator of the Year. She has been in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and received the Bosse Teacher of the Year Award, 2001 – 2002 and the Indiana National Guard Nighthawk Educator Award, 2000, 2006. McNamara is a member of the Indiana Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (IASCD), Association for School Administrators (ASA), Indiana Association of Secondary School Principals (IASSP), National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS), Program of Excellence Committee Member and the Posey County Republican Women’s Club. Her husband, Marc, the Ink Division Manager at Image Inks in Evansville, received a degree in Chemistry from the University of Indianapolis.
