District 19 vs. Shelli VanDenBurgh
Dan Klein is the popular former mayor of Crown Point, the heart of the 19th District. He and his wife, Vicky, have been married for 30 years and have three children. Dan attended Crown Point schools and Purdue University. He is a licensed Indiana Real Estate Broker, managing his privately held property management business in Crown Point for over 25 years. Dan retired from AT&T after 23 years of service. In 2003, Dan won the mayoral election in the City of Crown Point by a 2/3 majority. He has held fast to his promise to run the city like a business, always consciously adhering to the highest ethical standard, while building bridges and finding common ground for the betterment of the city he loves. In April of 2008, Dan was hired to serve as the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana.
